As a SWAT officer, Becker always knows to expect the unexpected because anything can happen in his line of work. I mean, the guy is a werewolf shifter. He knows better than most people how quickly someone’s life can change. Psst…Becker. It’s about to happen again.

Years ago, Jayna narrowly escaped a horrific situation and ended up alone and a werewolf shifter. *Well that saves them an awkward conversation. LOL* Thankfully, Jayna was taken in by Liam and joined his pack. As a Beta, she quickly formed a family with the other Betas. They’re they heart and soul of a pack. Unfortunately, Liam started using the pack for his own reasons ans now they’re in with the Albanian mob. Jayna and her friends believe they’re helping Liam, yet are also upset about what they’re being asked to do.

One of these jobs for the Albanians, brings Becker and Jayna together. Becker doesn’t understand why he isn’t arresting Jayna, he just knows he has to hide her so she can get away later. Cooper finds out and helps Becker cover her scent. (You just have to love Cooper. He keeps helping the others as they find their mates. I can’t wait until it’s his turn.)

Becker can’t stop thinking about Jayna and tracks her down. *There’s no hiding from Becker when he lets those computer skills fly.* Becker and Jayna grow close as they spend time together. (I will say…Becker is one happy wolf as Jayna seems to have an extensive collection of yoga pants. Hahaha. If you’ve been following the series, this part will have you cracking up because you’ll know how he feels about this particular item of clothing.)
Becker is determined to help Jayna and her friends out of this situation, while taking down the Albanian mob at the same time. *cough cough overachiever LOL*

Does Becker free Jayna from her pack? Will her friends be rescued as well? What happens when the SWAT team finds out about Jayna? How badly will Gage want to beat on Becker for not telling him about his personal assignment? It’s Gage, so I’m thinking a pretty good amount. 😉 Thankfully, Becker has a little tidbit of information that’ll quickly calm Gage down from that ledge. Oh, silly you. I’m not going to give you any of these answers. Read the book and find out.

I highly recommend anything Paige writes. I do suggest you read this series in order for the sake of continuity and to ensure full enjoyment of each story though. It’ll be worth it. I love these characters and can’t wait to see who finds love next. Want to know a secret? *whispers* I’m really hoping Cooper finds his One next.
