Today we are interviewing the amazing Darlene Kyncytes, she writes the most amazing books.
Tell us more about you and what drew you to your genre?
Well, I am a romance author. Hard core! LOL! I believe in curl your toes, can’t breathe kind of love. I have a series in the Paranormal Romance genre and I have also just recently released a Suspense/Romance. As my genre, I have always been a hopeful romantic.
Did you ever think you would become a writer or did your dreams take you elsewhere? I have wanted to be an author since I was a little girl. I didn’t want to be a ballerina, or a princess…I always wanted to write.
Can you share a snippet of your latest book? Sure!! Here is a little taste of I’ll Be Seeing You. I am so proud of this book!
Cole was on her in three strides. He grabbed her arms and pulled her closer to him, and she instantly stiffened. “It’s not like that,” he hissed, his gaze locking with and holding hers with an intensity that pulled the breath from her body. She swallowed hard and returned his stare, refusing to break in front of him.
“You really don’t need to lie to me, Cole,” she husked. “No harm…no foul.” As she said the words, she knew that they were a lie. “You don’t owe me anything.” She could have kicked herself right in the head as the words passed her lips. She knew that she shouldn’t have just fallen into bed with him. That wasn’t like her. She had only ever had one other lover, and she cringed when she remembered how that had turned out. No…men were definitely not in her cards. She had trust issues, and this whole fiasco only proved that they were justified. She felt like a complete idiot for believing that he might have cared for her just a little. She cringed slightly as the thought that he had merely pretended to believe her only to get her into bed slithered across her mind. How could she have been so stupid? How could she have ever thought that he was different?
What is your most favourite snack to eat whilst you write? hmmm, I don’t really snack when I write…but I do drink lot’s and lot’s of coffee! I swear…I don’t give blood…I give Starbucks!!!!!!!!!
Who are your muse’s for when you create a characters and why? That’s a tough one. I mean, my characters just kind of come to me. It’s not very often that I see someone and think…oh, he would be a great character. I usually have a picture of them in my mind that is nothing like anyone I have ever seen before!! LOL In my Supernatural Desire Series, book 1 A Vampire’s Saving Embrace, I will say that I picture Desmond looking like a buff Ian Somerhalder!!
Do you draw any inspiration of these characters from yourself Ok…yes! The smartass remarks are TOTALLY me.
Out of all your your characters who do you love the most. Come on! Really!?!?! That is like asking someone to pick a favourite child!!! I can’t! BUT…If you held a gun to my head…I would have to say Desmond, only because he was my very first!
Do you draw on any of your own life experiences Well, from the paranormal standpoint, no. But, in my Suspense/Romance I did a little. I grew up hanging around cops and detectives, so I was lucky enough to pick up on some things.
What authors do you fangirl over? Oh, wow. hmmm there are so many. I love Anne Rice, Stephen King! Would LOVE to meet that man and pick his brain.
If you or one of your characters could be on a reality show would you? And what show would it be?Naked and afraid!!!!!!!!! LMAO
Do you do any personal research for your books 😉 😉 I do a bit, but I let the story tell itself the way it wants to be told.
If one of your books was made in to a movie which one would it be and who would play lead characters. Man! You are killing me here! If I had to choose, I would say I’ll Be Seeing You. I LOVE the intensity of Cole and Katherine. And once again…Ian Somerhalder and maybe…hmmmm for Katherine…I just don’t know.
Your stuck on a dessert island you have 1 song, 1 book, 1 book boyfriend and 1 luxury item. What and why Let if rain by Bruno Mars The Shining by Stephen King, Cole McKenzie and…wine! lol
