A warm welcome to my favourite Irish Lady Michelle McLoughney who might i add is super talented amazing author.
Tell us more about you and what drew you to your genre?
I have always written. I started with morbid teenage angst-ridden poetry in school. I love romance, I’m a hopeless romantic and am obsessed with movies 24 and the hallmark channel. I crave happy endings. I collect Mills and Boon books and have over 3,000 in my attic. I also love darker reads and should be bringing out a dark novel next year.
Did you ever think you would become a writer or did your dreams take you elsewhere?
I have always wanted to be a writer. I’m living the dream at the moment. Although, it’s a lot harder to get books written now that I have to. I’m a natural procrastinator and will put everything off until I have to get it done.
Can you share a snippet of your latest book?
Odin : The Gods of Wrath security agency.
“Hey Will. Hey Pete, s’up buttercup,” I say, slapping his knee lightly. I lean over and kiss Will, mentally taking note of his Godawful shirt. Will is a bit of an enigma, I still have no clue what he does for a living, but if a girl like me knows one thing, it’s when people have money, and Will has money, lots of it. Pete grins at my quick silent assessment of Will’s attire and nods. “He looks good, hmm? He’s not a pimp you know that, right? He just likes to dress like he has a harem of bitches downtown waiting for a backhand across the face.” Will puts down his cocktail and gives us both the finger. “Hey! I’m right here,” he says feigning offense.
Pete laughs, a low deep guttural sound. “I’m just kidding, you’re rocking that shirt, boy.” He looks at me and mouths pimptastic. I nod and wait for him to begin his usual Q&A.
“How’d the date go last night? That Richard hey, he’s a looker right? Right?” Pete says, I’m pretty sure even he doesn’t believe that Richard is in fact ‘a looker.’ I raise up one shoulder and shrug.
“He’s okay, I guess,” I reply, knowing that I’m digging my own grave.
“What? Only okay?” Will sits forward, curiosity burning in his eyes.
“He came to collect me with a She makes the rules coz she gots the pussy, t-shirt on. I don’t know what I was more offended by, the piss poor grammar or the word pussy shoved in my face for the whole evening,” I say, swirling my drink around the glass.
Pete snorts and slaps my knee. Hard. “Hey Jas, I’ve a lot of friends who like pussy in the face. Lot of people out there like a good pussy in the face.”
I play with the straw from my drink. “See, this I have no issue with, hell with my luck with men, maybe pussy is the way to go.”
Pete coughs lightly. “I feel like we may have mentioned pussy excessively in this conversation.”
I raise my eyebrows and thump Pete on the shoulder, which is a complete douche move and only succeeds in making me wince and nurse my fist.
“Oh-kay. Listen little lady, I have a challenge for you,” Pete interjects. “We are going to Rico’s for BBQ night tonight, and cocktails. Come along and forget about getting cock for the night. Just let your hair down and have some fun. You’re starting to get cockbrain.”
What is your most favourite snack to eat whilst you write?
Anything. Mainly chocolate and chipstix
Who are your muse’s for when you create a characters and why?
My muses’ are always the men on my covers. I get a cover before I start a book, it helps me focus. My female muses’ are usually everyday women, my friends and myself.
Do you draw any inspiration of these characters from yourself?
Yes. I try to immerse myself in characters and react how I would react to a specific situation.
Out of all your your characters who do you love the most.
I love Rory O’Malley the most and granny O’Malley. So far they are my favs. Although, the characters I’m working on at the time become my favourites. I have a soft spot for Johnny ‘Buck’ Rogers in Gods of Wrath too. He’s damaged and hard work, but soft too and a trier.
Do you draw on any of your own life experiences
I some ways yes. I channel any pain or hurt I have suffered in my books. I understand loss, love and feeling not good enough at certain times in my life. It helps.
What authors do you fangirl over?
I fan girl over John Connolly, James Herbert and Steven King. Also, Roald Dahl my first love. In terms of contemporary writers, I love Isabel Dare, Leigh Stone, Mandy Dowson, Layla Stevens, Beth Flynn, Amity Cross and Karina Halle.
If you or one of your characters could be on a reality show would you? And what show would it be?
Buck Rogers in GOW, he would be on Big Brother and have daily meltdowns

I do personal research as often as I can
If one of your books was made in to a movie which one would it be and who would play lead characters.
The first of the O’Malley books. Rory would be played by Ray Stevenson and Cass would be played by Karen Gillen AKA Amy Pond from Dr Who.
