BOOK EXCERPT

“Why? Can’t keep up?” Shane asked, his smirking grin taunting her.

“I’ll show you keeping up!” Ronna said with a growl, and she made to tackle him, narrowing her eyes when he dodged out of the way just in time and she advanced on him.

“Ah, ah, ah, bad, bad girl.” Shane said, wagging his finger at her with a smirk was he kept retreating.

They circled each other, looking for a way in, a weakness to exploit and trying to catch each other off guard. But they were both hyperaware and not giving an inch.

Ronna caught Shane unaware and flipped him over her shoulder in a taekwondo move he never saw coming, smirking down at him with smugness oozing out of her.

“Take that your royal haughtiness.”

She jutted her chin high into the sky and moved to leave but Shane swept his legs out and hers from under her, catching her on top of him to break her fall.

“You were saying?” he said with one smug brow lifted high. Without giving her a chance to respond, he flipped them over so that she was trapped between his body and the burnished wood floor.

“Ready to accept defeat?”

“Ha. You wish.” Ronna bucked underneath him, trying to flip them back over but he was too strong.

Instead, he grabbed both her hands and pinned them over her head and using his hips to lock her in place, unable to move. He leaned closer to her until there was only a hairbreadth of space between their faces.

“Admit my superiority.” He leaned closer watching her gaze drop to his lips and his lips curving upward at the advantage he had. He leaned closer still then diverted his face at the last moment to whisper in her ears “You know you want to.”

She whimpered, the air charged with sexual tension and she suddenly felt how acutely he was lying across her.

His eyes gaze dropped to her mouth and he whispered huskily, “Hmm.”

He didn’t give her a chance to say a word as he took her mouth into his own. From playful, the mood had rapidly turned to excitement. He sucked at her bottom lips and she closed her eyes, giving herself to the emotions which flooded through her.

Mercy Mayor has always been fascinated by the completely different world that could be found between pages. Even more passionate by the emotions they evoked, she began spinning tales from an overactive imagination, delving into a whole new world of possibilities.

AUTHOR INTERVIEW

Q: What inspired you to start writing?

A: I’m an avid reader. In fact, I’m more of a bookaholic. I love all things books but mostly, I’m all for fiction and anything with romance in it. I’ve been reading for a long time and one day, I just wanted to see how I’d do writing and before I knew it, I’ve written two books though none of them published yet now.

Q: What do you like to do when not writing?

A: Reading, watching Korean drama, I’d watch a TV series if it really piques my interest like Lucifer, Vampire Diaries, but when a movie drags out, I kind of get bored of it after a while.

Q: Which Author(s) inspire you and your writing?

A: I love all books by Judith McNaught, Lisa Kleypas, Johanna Lindsey they really stoked my interest in historical books

Q: Which book was your debut release?

A: Mine Forever, the book 1 in the Perrine series. I’ve got the book 2 done but polishing it also.

Q: Tell us about the book published by Avid and your writing process for it.

A: Mine Forever. I wrote this book a long while ago and didn’t really do anything with it. It’s kind of normal to have books rejected but I kept working on it until I felt like it was finally ready to hand over to a publisher once more and I was so excited when Avid picked it up. Go me!
