We are back again with another amazing, fantastic instalment from the most magical writer of today Ashley Malkin.
Ashley has been a favourite of mine for just over a year now and I am so thankful that I stumbled upon her books as each story each book gets better and better and captures my heart just a little bit more every time.
Morgan Trent has been searching and searching for the true identity of her birth parents for years now. And finally she discovers who she is and it brings her both the most unexpected joy of her life and the greatest danger.
Ben and Cameron Harvey are cougar shifters, they have been sent of on a little mission to Michigan to neutralize this threat to their new pride mate, Bethany Reed. But what they find is something entirely different yet better… their own mate, and she is all battered and bruised from an attempted kidnapping.
Evan Harvey is a hardened retired navy seal, he has come back to Eminence to train up all the new soldiers for the pride, but what he discovers is a mate that he never ever dreamed he would ever be worthy of.
As Ben, Cameron, and Evan try and attempt to explain that they are shifters to their human mate, there enemy gets ever closer to them, he has followed them back to Eminence.
There enemy is proving to be so evil that the men have asked for help from all of their former pride in Pine Falls. Know as this threat to both of Morgan and Bethany’s lives are fully and truly realized, the entire pride is needed to pull together and battle this enemy with greater strength in numbers and sheer brute force as well as tenacity.
Another heart stopping amazing fun filled romantic book it had me on the edge of my seat from the start too the very end and as always I lost my heart too the characters, Ashley does an amazing job with them that you cant help but be invested with them. I just loved how past characters come together to help in this book and I adored having more sneak peeks in to them and how life is treating them with there mates…. and Brody o man I adore that lil guy seriously I hope he is in most all of the books as he is a perfect character and a fantastic friend too all.
Morgan is awesome all she wants too know is where she comes from she never expects too find her forever and not in the arms of one man but three. She cannot believe that they are attracted too her and that she can attract them. O and when the mating heat calls o wowza…. Hot
Ben and Cameron are your stereo typical handsome men with allot of heart and soul yet Evan he was the one that called too me the tortured soul that touched my heart, he is such a deep man with many worries and insecurities it was so different too see a man/character like that, what I loved about that is how Morgan was able too complete that part of him if not even more she is there glue the one that sticks them all together forever.
My Favourite excerpt from the book,
“Can you see the cyber cafe?” Cameron asked as they exited the alley on the street they’d been heading for. Looking at the store fronts, Ben found the numbers and gestured back toward the way they’d come. More police cars blocked the street. One police car moved to let an ambulance pass, its sirens blaring as it took off in the opposite direction.
“I have a bad feeling about this,” Ben said. He reached for his badge as he approached a young uniformed police officer.
“Wait,” Cameron said, his voice sounded garbled and strained. Ben turned and roughly pushed Cameron back into the alley. His brother’s eyes were glowing amber and his canines had descended to pierce his bottom lip. Blood ran down Cameron’s chin and also from his fingertips where his claws now protruded.
“ Fuck, Cam. What the—”
Then Ben smelled it. Sweet, rich, and alluring. The smell as decadent as chocolate and just as addicting. Blood. Not just any blood. His mate’s life blood had been spilled somewhere close. She was hurt and he had failed to stop it from happening.
Ben held onto his cat with all of his will power. It snarled and roared. Hissing in anger to be allowed free, but Ben held tight to his control.
“Soon. We’ll have her soon, but not if we lose control.” Ben spoke the words out loud, trying to soothe both his cat and Cameron’s.
“I can scent more than one person’s blood,” Cameron said. His eyes blinked back to their human green. “This many police cars means someone has died. Our mate may have died before we fucking met her.”
Can you see why I love that excerpt it shows so much emotion so much joy and a hint of something else.
Always a true joy too read Ashley Malkins and I urge everyone too read all her books.
