For a shifter, finding your mate is one of the greatest days of your life, right? *cue the bumping and biting* When Caleb meets Hannah, he instantly knows she’s his other half. Hannah, though human, can’t explain her instant connection to Caleb
But Hannah has a rough history and the road to mating will have some bumpy patches. *pause on the bumping and biting* She lost her parents when she was fifteen, then moved to a new town to live with her aunt. It didn’t take long for Robert, the town’s golden boy *cough cough loser*, to prey on her already emotionally vulnerable state. Of course, he was just using her and Hannah quickly got tossed aside and eventually replaced by the appropriate woman and family. While she was hurt by how Robert handled it, one good thing did come from the situation…her daughter, Jessie. Oh man, I love this little girl.
Caleb quickly falls in love with Hannah and Jessie, as they quickly fall in love with him. HEA ensues and the story is over. Ha, of course it’s not.
Caleb and his family are moving back to their old pack now that Magnum is gone and Drew, a good Alpha, has taken over. Now Hannah and Jessie, and their surrogate family, Will and Bridie, are being uprooted to a new town and a completely new way of life. There’s also trouble brewing in the form of Robert, Jessie’s biological father. He has plans for Jessie and will do anything to get his way. Yes, his reasons are heartbreaking and you do feel sorry for the guy, but he definitely could’ve found a different way to get the help he so desperately wanted.
Will Caleb’s new family be welcomed into the pack? Will Caleb and Hannah mate? Will they be able to keep Jessie safe? Read now and find out. Psst…there’s so many little tidbits I’m keeping to myself because you need to read about them for yourself. It’s worth it. This is book #36 in the Black Hills Wolves series and while it’s not necessary, I do recommend reading the books in order for the sake of continuity and for full enjoyment of the series.
