Today we have the most amazing author with us Vanessa Vale, I am so chuffed she agreed to do this interview for me.
Lets start of with a naughty question to get all our hearts pumping have you ever been with the opposite sex? And if yes have you used it as inspiration in your book?
Yes, but I doubt my story will get anyone’s heart pumping! I met my husband in college and we’ve been married now for 17 years. I do not use it as inspiration for my books because my man isn’t a cowboy–and besides, I think it would be a little creepy!
Tell us more about you and what drew you to your genre?
I lived in Montana for five years and LOVE cowboys. They push every one of my hot buttons and if I could have more than one man, I’d pick a cowboy next. Because of that, I love to write about them and make fabulous fantasies including them.
What kind of sex scene is the hardest of all for you to write?
Ménage is hard because there are a lot of arms and legs and things going on at once.
Can you share a naughty snippet from your latest book?
This is slightly naughty, not the naughtiest part of the book, but a good ‘warm-up.’ This is from Hyacinth, Wildflowers of Montana Book 2, coming out on 10/13
“Do you have a mirror in the house?”
I frowned. “A mirror?”
He nodded. “A full length one.”
“In the wash room. It’s not full length, but long enough.”
“Good. Tonight, I want you take off all your clothes and stand before it.”
My eyes widened. “I beg your pardon?”
“I want you naked, love, in front of a mirror.”
“Why?” I asked, taking a step back. He’d never spoken to me thusly before.
He reached out and took my hand in his, felt the warmth of it, the callouses that roughened his skin. “Because I want you to see yourself, to see how beautiful you are. I bet you don’t even look at your body, do you?”
My cheeks flushed at the topic of conversation.
“Do you?” he repeated. He wouldn’t let me hide. With all of my loud, noisy sisters, it was easy to do just that, even in plain sight.
I couldn’t answer, for the topic of conversation had shifted to where I felt uncomfortable and was completely unknowledgeable. So I remained quiet and just shook my head.
He bent at the waist so he was eye level with me, ensuring I was looking at him. “When I see you in the morning, you will tell me the exact colour of your nipples.”
My mouth fell open and my nipples tightened at the very idea. They’d never done so before and the feeling of it was as shocking and illicit as his words.
“We shouldn’t be talking like this,” I told him.
“Yes, we should, for I will talk about your body, and mine, frankly and openly from now on,” he countered. “Tomorrow morning at seven, love. I will be guessing the colour all night.”
Do you draw on any of your own life experiences?
I don’t kiss and tell!
If you had a free pass to date, sleep, or marry any celebrities who would it be?
It has been agreed that if Daniel Craig (aka James Bond) is my free pass. I can do whatever I want with him and I have lots of ideas!
ave you ever written anything that you wouldn’t dare to do in real life?
I think ménage. That’s pretty complicated and one man is a lot of work. Having two around all the time would be a pain. Plus, I like to spread out when I sleep so someone would have to sleep elsewhere. Unless the extra guy had OCD and liked to keep the house immaculate, then I’d keep him.
Is Google your friend while researching?
As I said, I lived in Montana so I draw on all the time there. We visited tons of historical sites and museums so I draw from that. I do pull up stage coach routes and Indian skirmishes, etc on Google.
How open are you at admitting that you are an Erotica Writer to people?
This is a tough one. I just came out of the closet at RomCon last month with my face, connecting me to Vanessa Vale. I write romantic comedy and run RomCon under the pen name Jennifer Zane, so many people were surprised! I don’t tell my friends that I write erotic. Jennifer Zane is my front! I think it will get out eventually, but I want to control that pace of information. Social media is difficult for erotic writers because I have ‘friends’ who live all over the world and make assumptions about me that are completely untrue. I don’t walk around with rope or wear corsets all day. I don’t live like I write, so I try to be cautious.

When Piper Sinclair finds herself hauled in by a bounty hunter in connection with her family’s crimes, the sheriff’s word that she wasn’t involved should be enough to make her captor let her go. But Wiley Easton isn’t buying it. He’s heard tell that a woman was involved in the crime spree that left several people – including his own father dead. If the sheriff won’t lock her up until the judge arrives, he’ll keep her captive and naked so she can’t escape. When the judge shows up the next morning to side with the sheriff and explain that Piper wasn’t involved, he’s furious to find that Wiley has kept an innocent woman naked in his hotel room. Because Piper has been so dishonored, the judge orders Wiley to marry her.
Wiley Easton never considered himself the marrying kind. But now he not only has a wife related to his father’s killers, but one determined to help him track down the woman who almost sent her to the gallows on a case of mistaken identity. The chase won’t be easy, and along the way Wiley will learn that his new wife is headstrong, stubborn and passionate. As he awakens her to a new world of carnal delights, he becomes protective.
