I have read a few of Hannah Howell books in my time and i no it wont be the last one, she has a way of drawing you in to the worlds she creates like no other author you truly believe you are there or living through her books.
In this book we meet Lady Annys MacQueen and she has no other choice. She is scared that the deception that enabled her to keep her lands safe is on the very verge of being Taken by a cruel callus kinsman. Annys nows in her heart of hearts she has to shield her young son from the sword and her fellow people from devastation,
so she has no choice but turn to the one man she could never ever forget. . .

There where many characters in this book i grew to love like young Benet he was such a sweetie, and of course the handsome suave Sir Harrcourt Murray i sensed right from the start he was a man of honor passion and true love as well as being good eye candy.
Lady Annys she has many worries after all another man claimed her boy as legally his i loved the factor how her first husband was a true man and did that for her,
